Die Dokumentation erzählt die Geschichte vom Aufstieg der ’Ndrangheta und des europäischen Kampfes gegen diese Organisation seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre. Heute kontrolliert die ’Ndrangheta weitgehend unbemerkt von der Öffentlichkeit einen großen Teil des internationalen Kokainhandels – mit geschätzten Einnahmen von mehr als 50 Milliarden Euro pro Jahr.

The documentary tells the story of the rise of the 'Ndrangheta and Europe's fight against the organisation since the mid-1990s. Today the 'Ndrangheta controls a large share of international cocaine trafficking largely unnoticed by the public — with estimated revenues of more than 50 billion euros per year.

Deutschland ist für die ’Ndrangheta das wichtigste europäische Land außerhalb Italiens; dort gibt es ein dichtes Netz von Mafia-Strukturen, und aufgrund der laxen Geldwäschegesetze wird Mafia-Geld in großem Stil gewaschen.

Germany is the 'Ndrangheta's most important European country outside Italy; there is a dense network of Mafia structures, and due to lax money-laundering laws, Mafia money is laundered on a massive scale.

Der Film begleitet die Ermittler Oliver Hut (Deutschland), Massimiliano D’Angelantonio (Italien) und Maurizia Quattrone (Interpol) auf ihrem Weg zur OPERATION EUREKA – dem bislang größten koordinierten internationalen Schlag gegen die ’Ndrangheta. Am 3. Mai 2023 vollstreckten mehr als 3.000 Polizeibeamte weltweit zeitgleich Festnahmen.

The film accompanies investigators Oliver Hut (Germany), Massimiliano D'Angelantonio (Italy) and Maurizia Quattrone (Interpol) on their path to OPERATION EUREKA — the largest coordinated international strike against the 'Ndrangheta to date. On 3 May 2023, more than 3,000 police officers worldwide simultaneously executed arrests.
