In the Congo, scientist Barbara Fruth observes bonobos consuming medicinal plants — knowledge that remains largely unexplored and could help humans.

Time is running out: poachers have dramatically reduced the animals' numbers — only around 30,000 of the once 100,000 bonobos remain in the Congolese jungle. One day, the medicinal knowledge of the apes could be lost forever.
