Ich habe Informatik an der TH Darmstadt und Soziologie an der Universität Hamburg studiert – eine Kombination, die meinen Blick für analytische Strukturen und gesellschaftliche Zusammenhänge nachhaltig geprägt hat. Nach einem Schnitt-Volontariat bin ich seit 1998 freiberuflich als Filmeditor tätig.I studied Computer Science at TH Darmstadt and Sociology at the University of Hamburg – a combination that has shaped my eye for analytical structures and social contexts. After an editing traineeship, I have been working as a freelance Film Editor since 1998.

Mir geht es dabei um mehr als Ästhetik: Ich möchte eine echte emotionale Verbindung zwischen Publikum und Inhalt herstellen – durch präzise Schnitte, sorgfältiges Timing und non-lineares Storytelling.For me, it goes beyond aesthetics: I want to create a genuine emotional connection between the audience and the material — through precise cuts, careful timing, and non-linear storytelling.

Den Rohschnitt übernehme ich in der Regel eigenständig und strukturiert, oft auch ohne durchgehende Regiebegleitung. Die enge Zusammenarbeit mit Regisseur*innen ist mir gleichzeitig ein echtes Anliegen – und viele dieser Partnerschaften bestehen schon seit Jahren.I usually take on the rough cut independently and in a structured way, often without continuous directorial supervision. At the same time, close collaboration with directors genuinely matters to me — and many of these partnerships have lasted for years.

Was mich antreibt: aus jedem Material das Bestmögliche herauszuholen und eine Erzählweise zu finden, die wirklich zum Stoff passt. Dabei denke ich nicht nur handwerklich, sondern bringe mich auch stark dramaturgisch ein – etwas, das von Regisseur*innen besonders geschätzt wird.What drives me is getting the best possible result from every piece of footage and finding a narrative approach that truly fits the material. I don't just think in craft terms — I also contribute strongly to the dramaturgical shaping of each project, something directors particularly value.

Mein Schnittstudio in Berlin bietet eine professionelle und repräsentative Arbeitsumgebung. Ich arbeite mit DaVinci Resolve Studio, Premiere Pro und Avid Media Composer und beherrsche zudem After Effects und Photoshop.
